Hands-on guide to RabbitMQ fundamentals using Docker, Management UI and CLI
What you’ll learn
Understand what RabbitMQ is and when to use message brokers in your architecture
Run and manage RabbitMQ
Create and manage queues, exchanges, and bindings
Publish and consume messages
Implement dead letter queues for error handling
This hands-on course provides a practical introduction to message queuing using RabbitMQ, the most widely deployed open-source message broker.
You won’t waste time on unnecessary theory. Instead, you’ll learn by doing, working directly with RabbitMQ using its Management UI and command-line tools.
We’ll start by running RabbitMQ in Docker containers, giving you a quick and clean setup without complex installations. From there, we will explore how message queuing works in practice by creating queues, publishing messages, and consuming them in real time.
As we progress through this course, we will dive deeper into core RabbitMQ concepts such as exchanges, routing patterns, and message flow. Up to some more advanced features like message durability, acknowledgments, and dead letter queues.
Everything is done using the RabbitMQ Management UI and the rabbitmqadmin CLI tool. In this course we won’t write application code, which allows to fully focus on understanding how the system behaves and how to manage it effectively. This makes the course also programming language agnostic.
By the end of this course, you’ll understand how message brokers work, when to use them in modern architectures, and how to confidently operate RabbitMQ in real-world scenarios.
This course is a great fit if you are:
A developer exploring asynchronous communication and event-driven systems
A DevOps engineer working with distributed infrastructure
A system architect designing scalable and decoupled applications
If you want a clear, practical, and hands-on introduction to message queuing with RabbitMQ, this course is for you.
Who this course is for:
Developers, DevOps engineers, system administrators, and architects who want hands-on experience with message brokers and asynchronous messaging patterns using UI and CLI tools
