Rick Smith, Jr. is the current Guinness World Record holder for throwing a playing card further than anyone. On this video he teaches several methods of how to throw cards for speed, distance and accuracy and how to slice vegetables and topple a pyramid of soda cans.

Card Throwing techniques taught include: different throwing techniques, grips, stances, warm-ups, multiple card throws and how to control speed, distance and accuracy.

Techniques and Stunts:
Grips (Herrman Grip, Jay Grip, Smith Grip), Throwing Techniques (Using the body for distance throws, accuracy, body momentum,) Multiple Card Throwing, Audley Walsh’s Thumb Shooting, Swing Shot, Boomerang Card, Ring Finger Shot, Snap Shot, Back Flicks, Fire Flicking, Hackey Flick, Pop up Cards, Fly Out, Quick Flick, Canned, Celery Stalker, and more.

Magic Routines:
►Flick Trick: A card is selected and lost in the deck by the spectator. When you get the deck back you give the deck a fancy cut and their card jumps out, and boomerangs back toward the deck using the Martin Lewis Spinner Move, where it is caught in the middle.
►Sucker: A card spins out of the deck and is sucked and caught by your mouth.

You also get to see Rick set the Guinness World Record on March 21, 2001 where he threw a card for a distance of 216 feet and 4 inches! The video ends with some outtakes where the cards don’t want to participate.

If you ever wanted to learn how to throw playing cards across the room or to the back of theaters, you can’t go wrong with this video.
